On Monday 25th June Winchester House School hosted the first ever RethinkingICT Conference. The event was organised by our own Head of ICT, Chris Leach, and brought together some of the leading figures in the ICT community for a day of discussion and inspiration. The day was designed as a response to recent media reports about the quality of ICT teaching in this country and aimed to develop a way forward. Around 100 delegates attended the day from all over the country and it was also broadcast live online where it was watched by people as far away as Dubai and Australia. Twitter had been an incredibly powerful tool in organising the event and on the day the hashtag #RethinkingICT became the number one trending topic on Twitter in the UK and as a result hundreds more people were able to follow and interact with the day. It was a huge success and many of the delegates are already looking forward to RethinkingICT 2013.

Thank you to Chris Leach and all the staff at Winchester House for making everyone feel so welcome and looked after. It was a fantastic day with a lot to take away and think about. When can we start booking for next year – I think it will be even bigger!
