Friday’s Film Feature

December 10, 2010

Last night I read an article about the film ‘Tron: Legacy‘ which is a remake of the 1982 film Tron. Tron was a film produced by Disney and is important in the history of cinema because it was one of the first films to rely heavily on computer-generated effects. In fact the film was not considered for an Oscar because it was felt that relying heavily on computers to make the film was somehow cheating. You can see the trailers for the original and remake below. Have a look at how the effects have changed and improved over time. Nowadays almost every film you see at the cinema has been made with the help of computers.
